What you will be doing:
As a qualified Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD), you will provide support to people with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), while also supporting your colleagues and promoting positive teamwork.
The wards are busy, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, and a good amount of routine and variety. Your day-to-day will include:
- Providing high-quality, effective and compassionate nursing care to service users
- Being responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
- Providing mentorship and support to team members
- Observing, recording and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided
Skills and knowledge you will have:
- A relevant nursing qualification
- NMC registration
- Strong team-working skills
- A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach
- A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
- A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice

St Mary’s Hospital provides high‑quality care and rehabilitation for men aged 18 and over who require specialised mental health support within a safe, structured and therapeutic inpatient environment.
Our services include a comprehensive range of specialist pathways for individuals with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), including:
- Level 2 ABI rehabilitation
- Low Secure ABI services
- Medium Secure ABI services
These programmes are delivered within a multidisciplinary, Neurobehavioral, recovery‑focused setting designed to promote independence, stability and long‑term wellbeing.
In addition, St Mary’s Hospital offers an acute mental health service dedicated to the assessment, treatment and stabilisation of individuals experiencing crisis or significant mental health difficulties. This service provides timely, compassionate intervention to support recovery and reduce risk.
