At East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust, we are committed to delivering excellent patient care and exploring opportunities for continuous service delivery improvements. As part of our Reshaping EOC programme, a new role of EOC Clinical Commander has been established and we are now looking to recruit experienced operational and command focussed leaders to EOC Clinical Hub. The role will be accountable to the EOC Senior Manager (Clinical Service Delivery) but also forms key relationships with the area management teams (EOC Head of Clinical Services, Clinical Workforce Managers and EOC Senior Senior Clinical Advisors) and the wider EOC Team.

The EOC Clinical Commander will provide a daily 24/7 tactical command role in EOC and will be responsible for the overall tactical command, coordination and performance of EOC Clinical Hub which meets both national and local key performance indicators. This role will provide visible leadership, problem solving / decision making and assessment of risk in a live dynamic environment, effectively overseeing the daily EOC Clinical Hub tactical plan. The EOC Clinical Commander will work in conjunction with the EOC Duty Commander undertaking the national major incident doctrine role and associated action cards of the 'Tactical Commander' or 'Operational Commander', dependent on the type of incident and command structure in place.

The duties and responsibilities of the post will be undertaken in accordance with the policies, procedures and practices of the Trust, which may be amended from time to time. Patient Safety is a key priority for the Trust.
