Role: Scrap Yard Gatehouse Officer

Hours: 36 hours per week - Friday - Sunday, 19:00 - 07:00

Salary: Potential to earn from £23,793.12 per annum

Location: Longridge Road, Preston

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and vigilant Scrap Yard Gatehouse Officer to join our team at our busy Preston site.

This is a hands-on role responsible for helping to maintain the safety and security of the site during weekend night shifts. You will carry out regular site patrols, monitor CCTV, manage access to the site and act as a key point of contact for drivers, customers and employees.

The role is primarily based outdoors and requires you to remain alert throughout the shift, responding appropriately to any security issues or emergency situations. Previous security or CCTV experience would be beneficial, and CCTV qualifications are desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with HGV drivers and direct them
  • Answer the security phone and promptly address any security-related issues.
  • Accepting parcels and distributing post.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safe opening and closing of site, including the locking up of all offices.
  • Responsible for answering the security phone and dealing promptly with any security related issues.
  • Handle CCTV monitoring and respond to requests
  • Being a key contact for any general queries onsite.
  • Dealing with customer requests and directing customers as needed.
  • SIA and CCTV qualifications are desirable.
  • Perform regular site patrols
  • Plus any ad-hoc duties required

The ideal candidate:

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
  • CCTV qualification is desirable.
  • Ability to remain alert and react to emergency situations across multiple sites.
  • Previous experience of using CCTV would be beneficial.
  • A friendly, polite approach. Previous experience in a front of house or customer serving role would be ideal.
  • A can-do, positive attitude to work.
