About Us:

Sportworks is a dynamic organisation dedicated to enhancing the physical and employability skills of young people. We partner with schools to deliver high-quality physical education that goes beyond fitness, focusing on crucial life skills such as leadership, communication, and future employability.

We have several exciting opportunities to work as part our growing team. We are looking for a P.E and Employability Skills Teacher/ Instructor.

Candidates will have a passion for delivering excellence and are able to deliver reliable, high quality and enjoyable experiences centred on the needs of the participants.

Job Description:

Sportworks is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated P.E and Employability Skills Instructor to join our team and deliver a unique programme at Selby High School. This position involves both practical P.E lessons and theoretical sessions aimed at raising aspirations and improving future employability among students.


  • Practical P.E Lessons: Deliver engaging P.E lessons that focus on developing leadership and communication skills as well as other skills which enhance employability.
  • Theoretical Sessions: Conduct interactive and inspiring theoretical lessons aimed at raising students' aspirations and enhancing their future employability prospects.
  • Lesson Planning: Prepare detailed lesson plans and materials to ensure high-quality delivery of both practical and theoretical sessions.
  • Monitoring and Administration: Track student progress, provide feedback, and assist with the administration of the course.


  • Week 1:
  • 8:45 AM - 10:45 AM: Deliver practical and theory lesson to Group 1.
  • 10:45 AM - 1:30 PM: Lunch break (1 hour) and PPA time (90 minutes) for lesson planning and preparation.
  • 1:30 PM - 3:10 PM: Deliver P.E lesson to Group 2.
  • Week 2:
  • 1:30 PM - 3:10 PM: Deliver practical and theory lesson.
  • 8:45 AM - 1:30 PM: Full day pay including PPA time for planning, monitoring, and administration.


  • Experience in teaching P.E and/or employability skills.
  • QTS/ PGCE preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Ability to engage and inspire young people.
  • Organised and capable of managing administrative tasks related to course delivery.
