It has applications outside electron microscopy as well. It is growing quickly and already has pedigree, publications and customers all over the world.

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and results-driven Applications Engineer, to play a key role in the translation, adoption and growth of SenseAI’s technology into the electron microscopy market and indeed into new markets.

  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical trainings, and workshops for customers, both onsite and remotely
  • Collaborate with R&D to translate customer feedback into software improvements and new feature requirements
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation, user guides, and training materials
  • Support sales teams with technical expertise during pre-sales consultations and product evaluations
  • Analyse customer workflows and recommend optimized solutions leveraging company software
  • Test new software releases to ensure functionality, performance, and compatibility with various microscopy systems
  • Participate in scientific conferences, workshops, and trade shows to showcase applications and engage with the research community
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electron microscopy techniques, imaging modalities, and related hardware/software integrations.

  • Master's or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, Biology, or related field
  • Electron microscopy experience including TEM, STEM, SEM, and FIB-SEM
  • Python and typical image processing workflows utilised in electron microscopy
  • Experience solving problems related to implementing and further developing complex techniques
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable working directly with scientists and engineers
  • Strong knowledge of imaging analysis software, microscopy workflows, and data management
  • Ability to travel to customer sites, conferences, and training events (up to ~30%)

Desirable:

  • Capable of operating a variety of instruments from various manufacturers, including detailed knowledge of internal and external hardware
  • Knowledge or awareness of compressed sensing as applied to various EM techniques
  • Experience working in materials science or life sciences using electron microscopy
