Full job description

Junior Fuel Systems Engineer

Location: UK-wide (field-based, with occasional overseas travel)

Salary: £33,800 base | OTE £38,800 | Overtime available | Full-time, Permanent

The Role

We're looking for a junior engineer to join our field team working on diesel fuel systems at client sites across the UK. You'll be paired with a senior engineer and working as a two-person team, so you'll learn on the job from day one rather than being thrown in at the deep end. We're not expecting you to have done this before — we're looking for someone practical, reliable, and keen to develop a real trade skill set.

If you've got a background in any hands-on trade or technical field and you like the idea of working on the road rather than being stuck in the same place every day, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Installing, servicing, and maintaining diesel fuel systems and associated equipment
  • Carrying out site inspections alongside your senior colleague
  • Supporting fault diagnosis and repairs on-site
  • Helping prepare technical reports and site documentation after visits
  • Dealing with clients on-site professionally and confidently
  • Travelling regularly across the UK, with occasional overnight stays

What We're Looking For

  • A practical, hands-on mindset — you enjoy working with your hands and solving problems
  • Some background in a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or similar trade (even if informal or via education)
  • Comfortable working in varied environments, including confined spaces
  • Methodical and safety-conscious approach to work
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required

No specific fuel systems experience needed — full training and ongoing development provided.

Useful to Have

  • Any engineering, trade, or technical qualifications
  • Welding or electrical competencies
  • Previous experience in a field-based or site role
  • A genuine interest in how mechanical and fuel systems work

What's on Offer

  • Base salary £33,800 with OTE £38,800 (overtime on top)
  • All travel, accommodation, and per diem covered during assignments
  • Structured on-the-job training working alongside an experienced engineer
  • Opportunities to gain industry qualifications and progress your career

To Apply

Send us your CV and a few lines about yourself — what you've worked on, what appeals to you about this kind of role, and why you think you'd be a good fit. No formal cover letter needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £33,800.00-£38,800.00 per year

Work Location: On the road
