Lecturer - English / Literacy x2

35 hours per week

Fixed-Term until July 2027

Glasgow Clyde College is seeking two passionate and innovative English/Literacy Lecturers to join our Arts and Continuing Education (ACE) Faculty. These posts are funded through the RISE Project, an exciting city-wide initiative aimed at improving literacy skills, reducing barriers to employment and supporting individuals and families experiencing poverty across Glasgow.

Working collaboratively with partner organisations including City of Glasgow College, Glasgow Kelvin College and Glasgow Life, you will help develop learning resources, assessment frameworks and progression pathways that support adult learners to build their confidence, skills and employability.

What You'll Do

• Develop and deliver high-quality English and Literacy learning and teaching activities for adult learners.
• Create and standardise levelled literacy resources aligned to appropriate SCQF levels and adult literacy competencies.
• Develop suitable SCQF-rated literacy qualifications.
• Support the development of digital learning materials through the College's Canvas virtual learning environment.
• Contribute to the development of a shared literacy assessment and progression framework across Glasgow.
• Provide targeted literacy interventions and support to learners with varying levels of need.
• Work collaboratively with external partners to establish a coordinated city-wide approach to literacy provision.
• Maintain accurate learner records and comply with College policies and quality standards.

Who We're Looking For

• Qualified at a minimum of SCQF level 7 with expertise in English, Literacy or a related discipline.
• Individuals who are passionate about supporting adult learners and widening access to education and employment opportunities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience of developing learning materials and resources, including digital and blended learning approaches.
• Experience of developing assessments and qualifications.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and partner organisations.
• A flexible, proactive and learner-focused approach to teaching and support.

All successful applicants will be required to have a TQFE (or equivalent teaching qualification) and be GTCS registered within 5 years of their start date.

Salary: £43,402 - £52,247 per annum
Location: Anniesland Campus. You may be required to travel and work across all Glasgow Clyde College campuses.
