Job Title: Manager (with Events organisation)

Location: Walterz Entertainment Centre, Blackpool

Reports to: Operations Manager

Salary: c£32,000 DOE (plus bonus)

Role Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Manager to join our team at Walterz Entertainment Centre. In this role, you will support the Operations Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring exceptional service and a safe environment for all our guests. You will also play a key role in coordinating and managing events, ensuring they run smoothly and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the overall operations of Walterz bars and entertainment center, ensuring all areas are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Provide excellent front-of-house service, ensuring guests have an exceptional experience from start to finish.
  • Oversee and coordinate events, from initial planning through to execution, ensuring all details are managed and guest expectations are met.
  • Supervise and support the team throughout shifts, ensuring speed of service, cleanliness, and staff productivity.
  • Ensure the venue is opened and closed on time, with all opening and closing procedures followed precisely.
  • Manage staff rotas, ensuring adequate coverage for both regular operations and special events.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the venue’s reservation and booking systems (Karaoke, Bowling, Darts, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and be fully conversant with all emergency procedures.
  • Build rapport with guests to encourage repeat business and positive word-of-mouth.
  • Communicate effectively with the marketing team to promote public events and increase attendance.

Event Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organisation of larger events, including liaising with clients, managing bookings, and overseeing event execution.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create promotional material for events.
  • Manage on-the-day event logistics, including setup, guest management, and problem-solving.

Essential Skills:

  • At least 2 years of experience in bar/beverage management or a similar role.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience in event management.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confident in managing a diverse team and dealing with a variety of customer needs.

Desirable:

  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Knowledge of licensing laws and other relevant legislation.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.

Working Hours: Flexibility is required, as this role involves working a variety of shifts within a 7-day operation, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
