Job Summary
The Old Market Assembly is an award-winning restaurant, vibrant bar, live performance venue and theatre collaboration all in one. We offer of high-quality, ethically sourced, nutritious food, locally brewed booze, and high quality entertainment. Every weekend is an explosion of creativity, and we love it! We are looking for a passionate, creative General Manager with a love of food, drink and hospitality to join our team. We are looking for someone who is ready to put their stamp on a popular venue right in the heart of the city.

You will be working with professional industry leading management team committed to your development and upholding your work life balance.

The important bits of information:

  • 40 hour working week promoting a healthy work/life balance and a mix of day & night shifts.
  • 28 days holiday per annum
  • £37,000 - £42,000 salary + bonus, depending on experience (40 hour working weeks equivalent approximately £20ph).

You and the role:

  • Responsible: You will be fully responsible for all aspects of the performance this busy, vibrant venue
  • Autonomous: able to problem solve, with empowerment to improve the business
  • Keen: you will be invested in your continual growth, the future of the venue and the development of your team
  • A Trainer: of all positions and of a large (and happy!) FOH team
  • Leader: You have a natural desire to get stuck in and lead by example. You will ensure the team are organised for service every day
  • Confident: To run both busy food services & buzzing music nights whilst orchestrating your team to deliver excellence
  • Drive sales strategy: Awareness and ability to maximise sales potential whilst staying consistent with the company values and strategy
  • Knowledgeable: You understand profit and loss, along with GPs and labour and how to effect them
  • Good administrative skills:
  • All legals: Fully adhere to license and Health & Safety responsibility
  • A host: Create a welcoming atmosphere and be the point of contact for our team and customers..
  • Finger on the pulse: Know the restaurant and bar scene in Bristol, with a keen eye on competitors
  • Spread The Old Market Assembly Love: Greet customers with a smile and ensure they have an unforgettable experience.

A people person, with a great personality and keen eye for detail

You’re a great communicator from the chefs through to the customers

You have a minimum of three years venue management experience

You are a great leader and manager and can delegate tasks
