Salary from £120,000 Per Annum DOE

Due to business growth we are looking for OH physicians to join our team. Depending on your location we can offer site based, remote working or a combination.

As an Occupational Health Physician you will be working for UK Independent Medical

The OHP will be responsible for a broad range of Occupational Health Issues, including:

  • Telephone and face to face consultations.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders including clients, GP’s, Specialists and Pension Scheme Managers
  • Support with validating and on-boarding OH physicians and other clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Assisting with decisions regarding Ill Health Retirement (IHR) including acting as IRMP where appropriate
  • Ensuring consistency in medical advice provided through clinical and quality audits.
  • Ensuring that the UKIM remains up to date with any relevant changes to legislation or policies and that these are effectively reflected in relevant UKIM procedures / medical specifications, for example:

o changes to medical standards,

o Impact of changes in HSE Guidance

  • Provide a clinical perspective on strategic matters as appropriate.
  • Support clinical direction at key meetings as appropriate.

Experience:

  • Full registration with the GMC
  • An accredited qualification such as Diploma in Occupational Medicine (Dip Occ Med) or AFOM/MFOM
  • Experience of working within a similar OH role
  • Experience in using medical record management systems
  • Experience of ill health retirement assessments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to interact with and influence UKIM managers, staff and internal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence in OH service delivery
  • Customer oriented, with the ability to interact with external stakeholders and customers, to ensure confidence and engagement.
  • Experience and willingness to manage complex / potentially litigious cases
  • Full right to work in the U.K without restrictions

Location: various locations within the UK – Preferred location to be in North West or North East, but all locations considered

Hours: Part time and full time candidates are invited to apply. We can offer as little as 7-40 hours per week contracted. Normal working day is 08:30-17:00 but there will be some flexibility around this.

Salary: £120,000 per annum (this is based on full time hours and will be pro rata to meet the contracted hours agreed)
