Location: Remote (UK based only)
Salary: Depending on experience
Term: Permanent - Full Time (35 hours pw) - No Weekends
We are seeking experienced, confident Motor & Personal Injury Claims Handler to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a specialist team, where you will be ‘loaned’ out to both internal and external clients to offer your claims expertise.
This opportunity allows successful candidates to enhance their skillset, network with a diverse range of clients, develop knowledge of a variety of systems, and still be supported by your team. Each assignment typically lasts between 3–12 months, meaning that no two days will ever be the same!
Successful candidates will be employed on a secondment model, meaning you will be assigned to various teams based on business needs. While the assignments are temporary in nature, this is a permanent role, and after one secondment concludes, you will transition to another project within the organisation.
This role is fully remote; however, when working with our clients, you may be required to travel to their offices for training (including overnight stays, paid for by the company). You may also be required to attend our offices for meetings and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will proactively manage a portfolio of motor claims. This will be predominantly Third Party Personal Injury Claims (Portal and Non Portal) but with some exposure also to out of jurisdiction claims Property Damage, Credit Hire and Accident Damage from infancy through to settlement.
- Evaluating and assessing claims thoroughly, including reviewing evidence and determining legal liability.
- Applying relevant legislation and regulations in claims handling, including familiarity with the pre-action protocol and portals.
- Quantifying injury claims and assessing associated losses, ensuring fair and accurate settlements.
- Effectively negotiating settlements with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders.
- Understanding and applying the CRU (Compensation Recovery Unit) process in the management of claims.
- Explaining complex legal and insurance concepts clearly and concisely to all parties involved.
- Identifying fraudulent claims and taking appropriate action to address them.
- Managing claims through the litigation process, adhering to required timescales and procedures. Experience in handling claims in Scottish, English, and Northern Irish jurisdictions is beneficial.
- Supporting both internal and external teams, providing expert motor claims handling support on a secondment basis.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in end-to-end motor claims handling, from initial notification through to settlement.
- Strong understanding of relevant motor insurance legislation, regulations, and claims protocols.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to resolve claims in a timely and fair manner.
- Experience in assessing injury claims and quantifying associated losses.
- Ability to navigate and apply the CRU process and manage claims within the pre-action protocol and portals.
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and insurance concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess liability and identify fraud.
- A good understanding of the litigation process, including timescales, with experience in multiple jurisdictions (Scottish, English, and NI) being a plus.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Experience with various claims management systems and the ability to adapt to different client environments.
What We Offer:
- Flexible work options: Enjoy remote working to support your work-life balance.
- Generous Holiday: 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, with an option to purchase more holidays throughout the year.
- Customisable Flexi-Benefits: Choose benefits that suit your lifestyle.
- Professional Growth: Access training with industry experts and qualifications like Cert CII and BDMA, with financial rewards upon completion.
- Referral Scheme: Earn a financial reward when your referred colleagues complete their probation period successfully.
- Pension Scheme: Self-invested personal pension above the statutory minimum.
- Reward & Recognition: Earn vouchers for popular retailers in categories like retail, dining, and entertainment by sending and receiving ‘points’ to colleagues within the business.
- Health & Wellbeing: Select from benefits like eyecare vouchers, cycle-to-work schemes, and digital consultations, designed to keep you healthy and supported.
- Green Car Scheme: Lease an electric vehicle with home charge point installation (if required) through our partner supplier.
- Life Assurance: Cover for you, with the option of adding your partner in the event of death while in service, regardless of medical history.
- Critical Illness Cover: Receive a lump sum if diagnosed with conditions like cancer, a heart attack, or stroke.
- Group Income Protection: Cover up to 60% of your salary after six months of incapacity.
If you are an experienced Motor Claims Handler seeking a challenging yet rewarding role within a progressive and supportive organisation, we encourage you to apply today.
All successful candidates will be subject to DBS and vetting checks, and offers of employment will be dependent on these results.
