Purpose of the Role

As Mother Christmas, you’ll help bring the true spirit of Christmas to life for every child and family who visits. You’ll play a vital part in creating magical memories, greeting guests, posing for photos, and helping Santa keep everything running smoothly in his cosy festive home. Your warmth, kindness, and sparkle will help children believe in the magic of Christmas!

Department Information

The Night Before Christmas Ride is one of our most loved festive attractions, welcoming up to 3,500 guests a day. After enjoying a magical sleigh ride through a winter wonderland, families arrive at Santa and Mother Christmas’s living room, where you’ll make them feel truly welcome and part of the story.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Portray Mother Christmas with warmth, confidence, and festive cheer throughout your shift.
  • Welcome and interact with children, families, and groups, ensuring every guest enjoys a magical experience.
  • Assist with photo opportunities and help organise presents ready for Santa’s visit.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment in all guest areas.
  • Respond to guest enquiries politely and efficiently, upholding Sundown’s high standards of service.
  • Present a smart, professional appearance and maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and fire safety requirements.
  • Attend any required training or e-learning sessions.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the Park Manager.
  • Carry out reasonable requests from management within the scope of the role.
  • Treat colleagues and guests with kindness, respect, and positivity at all times.

Person Specification

  • A mature and reliable individual able to portray Mother Christmas in a realistic, kind, and engaging manner.
  • Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic with a genuine love for creating joy and festive fun.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused or entertainment environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence when engaging with children and families.
  • Able to stay cheerful and professional under pressure in a busy festive environment.
  • Adaptable, reliable, and flexible with working patterns.

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 6 weeks

Pay: £13.71 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
