Assistant General Manager

The Engineer, Harpenden

The Engineer is part of a locally owned pub group, well renowned in North Hertfordshire. Our pubs are all unique, offering a diverse drinks range, freshly cooked food, live sports, large outdoor drinking and dining, regular entertainment and above all, great customer service.

We are seeking an experienced, energetic and charismatic Assistant General Manager to work in this thriving pub that boasts a large function room, outdoor bar and sports bar. You will work alongside the General Manager and be responsible for the successful running of all facets of the business working closely with the directors of the pub group.

As an experienced Assistant General Manager you will bring:

At least 2 years pub management experience

Positive energy and personality, someone who is always ready to welcome our customers

Passion for food and drink (eating and serving it!)

Calmness and a can do attitude in a busy work environment.

Leadership and teamwork to motivate and drive the existing team to deliver your business plan

Great communication, with every team member and customer

Proven ability to act as a role model demonstrating a positive approach to team morale and development

Ability to plan and maintain rota schedules to ensure adequate and efficient staffing levels in line with the labour budget

Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities

Attention to detail and exceptionally high service standards

Competence with Microsoft Office software

Current knowledge of compliance with Health and Food Safety procedures

Excellent command of English with the ability to communicate confidently

Proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom

Personal Licence
