Our opportunity
BAFTA is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hard-working event assistant to support the production of the BAFTA Award ceremonies and varied event programme.
BAFTA is an independent charity with a mission to develop and promote the three art forms we support: film, television and games. We do this by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the viewing public.
Our esteemed Awards ceremonies are high profile celebrations of our industry’s greatest achievements, but our Learning & Events programme and Archive projects form the heart of our charity work. Reaching a diverse audience of all age groups, they offer unique access to some of the world’s most inspiring talent.
On-stage events, on-going projects and webcasts encourage the public to deepen their understanding of the art forms they are touched by every day and, at the same time, ensure the creative industries achieve the highest standards.
We rely on funding from membership subscriptions, individual donations, trusts, foundations and corporate partnerships as well as our earned income, to support all our on-going charitable work.
The individual we are looking for needs to demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills. We are looking for a confident, clear and concise communicator who has an interest in a career in event management. A very keen eye for detail is vital for this role. They will need to be self-motivated and hardworking, proactive and able to learn quickly on the job and work to tight deadlines.
The role will require cross working across a whole programme of BAFTA events including but not limited to screenings, ceremonies, galas, showcases and press launches.
How BAFTA will give you the red carpet experience:
- Holiday - 29 days a year plus bank holidays
- Pension - 8% contributory pension
- Employee health cash-back plan
- Long-term sickness insurance
- Life assurance - four times your annual basic salary
- Employee Assistance Programme - 24/7 confidential access to expert services including counselling, wellbeing, and independent legal and financial advice
- Cycle 2 Work Scheme & season ticket loan
- Access to cinemas throughout the UK and to BAFTA events
Ideally you will have:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and time management.
- Experience working at live events.
- Keen eye for detail and a capable proofreader.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and working across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexible approach and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as SharePoint, Word and Excel.
If these describe you, then we'd love to hear from you!
