Full job description

Do you want your career to be an adventure? Do you have a passion for writing and storytelling? And, do you want to develop your skills while contributing to the success of a dynamic company that operates inside two exciting and fulfilling niches (travel and motorcycling)?

If the answer is yes, then you've come to the right place because Adventurize is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a staff writer.

Through our two magazines (Wired For Adventure (WFA) and Adventure Bike Rider (ABR)), websites, social media channels, and our annual festival, the ABR Festival, we provide non-stop inspiration, knowledge, and entertainment to a huge audience of motorcyclists and passionate travellers. If you think you've got what it takes to join our dedicated team, we'd love to hear from you.

Position overview:
As a dedicated member of our team, you will take on the responsibilities of a writer on our bi-monthly printed magazines, as well as creating content for our website, social media channels, and weekly newsletter under the supervision of the two publications' editors.

While this role utilises journalistic skills, we're just as interested in hearing from copywriters, marketeers, or any other content creators who want to work in a fast-paced and hugely rewarding environment. If you are bursting with creative ideas, are a stunning writer, commercially minded, and possess a passion for adventure, we want to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:

  • Content creation: Write high-quality content, including trip reports, feature articles, reviews, and advertorials, and upload them using WordPress content management system.
  • Assist in the production of WFA and ABR magazines, working closely with the editors to produce written content.
  • Create or source visually appealing and relevant photography to complement written content.
  • Proofreading and editing: Ensure editorial excellence by proofreading and editing content for accuracy, style, and brand consistency.
  • Weekly email newsletters: Taking ownership of the weekly WFA and ABR Newsletters, curating and producing engaging content for subscribers.
  • ABR Festival: Play a role in contributing to the success of the ABR Festival through content creation and social media activity.
  • Commercial awareness: Develop and maintain relationships within the industry. Contribute commercially-minded ideas to support marketing initiatives and partnerships.
  • Marketing collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to align content creation with overall marketing goals and initiatives.
  • .Qualifications and skills:
  • Proven experience in writing content for digital or print
  • Experience of coordinating social media platforms and content marketing strategies
  • Basic knowledge of using Content Management Systems, ideally WordPress
  • Ability to work creatively and innovatively, bringing fresh ideas to the table
  • Strong organisational skills, able to work under pressure and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ideally, you possess a full motorcycle licence, but we will consider outstanding applicants without one

The successful candidate can expect to receive access to our fleet of long-term loan motorcycles (providing you have a full, clean category A motorcycle licence), opportunities to travel and ride motorcycles at locations around the world, and access to the latest motorcycle and travel gear and equipment for review purposes.

How to apply: Please provide a cover letter with your application to introduce yourself and why you would be a suitable candidate for the position. This is an important step as it shows that you've actually read the job description before applying.

We thank everyone for applying for the role, but only those who are selected for interviews will be contacted by us.
