Full job description
Some industries are hard to break into without the right contacts. Our Law Programme changes that. If you come from a background that is too often overlooked in the legal profession, this programme is built for you. Over six weeks in London you will build the skills, confidence and connections to launch a career in law, with two days' work experience at a leading law firm.
Before you apply, please check our full eligibility criteria on our website. This programme has specific requirements you will need to meet, including that you must not hold a degree.
What to expect
- Build your confidence, skills and experience for a future in law.
- Network with experienced legal professionals across specialisms.
- Learn from leading law firms and legal professionals who really know the industry.
- Take part in specialised training with BPP University Law School.
- Get support with applications and interviews.
- Receive ongoing support through your first 12 months in work.
Who you will work with
We connect you with leading legal employers for insight days, mentoring and coaching. With over a decade of experience, we have the connections that can offer a launchpad to a lasting career.
We work with employers including AlixPartners, BPP University Law School, Farrer & Co, Kroll, PageGroup and Weightmans, and we are also proud to work with CMS, Freshfields, Herbert Smith Freehills, JMW Solicitors, Kramer Levin, King & Spalding, Keoghs, Pinsent Masons and Simmons & Simmons.
What you will do
- Employability workshops: Sharpen the skills employers look for, from delivering presentations and legal writing to professional communication.
- Legal sector insight: Visit leading law firms and meet in-house legal teams to learn how to network with legal professionals.
- Interview practice: Build the skills to succeed at interviews and assessment centres, and let your potential shine in legal recruitment.
Who can apply
No previous experience is needed, just the drive to learn and grow. Full eligibility criteria, including age and academic requirements, are listed on our website. Please note this programme is not open to applicants who hold a degree. Read the criteria carefully before applying, as you will need to meet all of them. In general, you should:
- Not hold a degree.
- Have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, plus 96 UCAS points.
- Come from a background that faces barriers to employment.
- Be available for the full six weeks of the programme.
