Full job description

We’re looking for a DMP/Environment Artist to help create photo-real and stylised environments for our film and high-end TV work. You’ll work closely with Leads and other artists to deliver high-quality matte paintings, textures, and projection setups that integrate seamlessly into CG and live-action plates.

What you’ll do:

  • Create digital matte paintings, textures, and models for 2D, 2.5D, and 3D environments

  • Integrate DMP work into live-action or standalone plates using Nuke, Maya, and Photoshop

  • Assemble projections, models, textures, and lighting setups for use in CG scenes

  • Set up DMP projections using camera and geometry setups in Nuke

  • Develop assets using a combination of digital painting, photogrammetry, and reference photography

  • Source and organise reference material and create mood boards for look development

  • Work from photo reference, concept art, or on-set data to meet the creative brief

  • Communicate regularly with production about schedules, progress, and issues

  • Collaborate with the CG and compositing teams to ensure seamless integration of assets

  • Help troubleshoot and optimise scenes for efficient rendering and delivery

  • Participate in developing the look of shots and sequences in line with direction from the Lead

  • Assemble and light scenes as needed for other shots or animated assets

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience with DMP techniques across 2D, 2.5D, and 3D workflows

  • Strong skills in Photoshop, Nuke, and Maya; bonus if familiar with Mari or Substance Painter

  • Understanding of matte painting techniques, digital paint processes, and colour management

  • Good artistic eye for composition, scale, lighting, and perspective

  • Experience working with HDRIs, photogrammetry, and shoot/reference data

  • Some modelling, texturing, and UV layout skills; able to produce basic geo for DMPs

  • Solid understanding of environment pipelines within VFX for film or TV

  • Strong organisation and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail

  • Collaborative mindset and ability to take feedback and adapt

  • Comfortable working under deadlines and shifting priorities

  • Good communication skills and a proactive, team-first attitude
