JOB DESCRIPTION: Technical Quality Assessor

LOCATION: East Anglia, South East and Midlands (travel required)

REPORTING TO: Surveyor Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Quality assurance inspections and customer satisfaction checks

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

Job Role

The Quality Assurance Inspector role is responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality insulation and renewable installations through pre, mid and post-installation inspections and quality checks. The role will involve regular travel to sites and customers’ properties to assess the quality and compliance of works completed by employed operatives and subcontractors.

Working closely with the Surveyor Manager and wider operational teams, the role will identify and report non-conformances, support corrective actions and help identify recurring issues and opportunities for continuous improvement. The role will also include speaking with residents following works to understand their experience and ensure any concerns or feedback are appropriately followed up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out pre, mid and post-install inspections of insulation and renewable installations to check the quality of works being completed.
  • Verify compliance with applicable standards including PAS 2030/2035, MCS standards, Building Regulations and manufacturer specifications
  • Inspect works completed by employed operatives and subcontractors, inspections will include on-site and desktop audits.
  • Produce detailed inspection reports, detailing remediation works needed where relevant.
  • Identify non-conformances and feed these back to the relevant teams ensuring corrective actions are identified, agreed and implemented
  • Complete follow-up inspections where needed
  • Carry out customer satisfaction checks, speaking with residents following works to understand their experience and satisfaction with the service provided and work installed
  • Pick up on any customer concerns and feedback during visits and make sure these are fed back to the relevant teams and followed up where needed.
  • Keep records of inspections/audits completed, customer feedback and non-conformances
  • Work closely with the wider team to help improve the overall quality of installs and customer experience
  • Identify common/repeated issues and feed these back to the Surveyor Manager or relevant Contract Manager.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support with pre-installation surveys when required
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements during site visits.
  • Full-time role, reporting into the Surveyor Manager
  • The role will involve regular travel and being out on site/in properties

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence and meet our insurers’ requirements for cover
  • Retrofit Assessor (Level 4 RA) qualification
  • Domestic Energy Assessor qualification
  • Experience within insulation, retrofit, renewables or a similar construction environment
  • Good understanding of installation quality and compliance requirements
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and non-conformances
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate inspection reports
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback to operatives, subcontractors and internal teams
  • Confident communicating with customers and residents, including when dealing with concerns or feedback
  • A quality-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and getting work “Right First Time”

Desirables

  • Traditional Building Retrofit Assessment (Pre 1900's b9lt-on)
  • Heat Loss Calculation Level 3 (Air Source Heat Pump suitability)
  • CSCS
  • Previous experience in a quality assurance or inspection-based role
  • IOSH or other relevant health and safety qualification
