Are you an experienced or aspiring Lecturer? Are you driven by all things equine and a love of learning? Are you looking for the next step in your career?
JOB TITLE LECTURER EQUINE
LOCATION CAMBRIDGE
HOURS 37 PER WEEK
SALARY £31,904 - £40,233 PER ANNUM
START DATE AUGUST 2026
Due to an increase in learner numbers on our equine courses we are looking to recruit an additional Lecturer to support teaching on our programmes from Level 1 to 3. This is a varied role incorporating both classroom and practical elements.
As a Course Director for Level 2 learners you’ll be instrumental in designing and delivering a contemporary curriculum which will equip the equine specialist of the future with up-to-date skills and knowledge. You’ll be able to inspire learners curiosity and help them to achieve their full potential in a supportive environment.
Not taught in further education before? It doesn’t matter. We offer a bespoke training package to all of our curriculum staff tailored to suit their previous experience. We will support you to achieve teaching qualifications if you do not already hold them.
Your industry experience is key and will enable you to develop a rich knowledge and understanding of what a career in equine looks like for your learners.
You must hold a relevant degree and either hold, or be willing to obtain, assessor and verifier awards. BHS (or equivalent) qualifications would be a distinct advantage.
We pride ourselves on our approach to the work life balance of our team and actively support job share and flexible working opportunities.
Please note that your point on the salary scale will be determined based on both experience and teaching qualifications. Appointments will not normally be made at point 12 or above (£37,454 FTE) without a level 5 teaching qualification and lecturing experience.
We are a successful, community-focused FE College based in the East of England. We have a thriving Equine team and in recent years, the department has grown from strength to strength. We offer an incredible training package and a chance to work within tight knit and supportive teams.
BENEFITS
We offer an excellent package including a generous annual leave allowance of 37 days per year for curriculum staff, plus five College closure days, plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part-time), fee waivers on some College courses, a contributory pension scheme with the Teachers' Pension Scheme (current employer contribution is 23.68%), discounts with local businesses and access to a cycle to work scheme. CWA focusses on staff well-being and utilises both internal and external resources, such as a well-being committee and access to a free and confidential Employee Assistance Programme as well as comprehensive training and development.
