Morgan's Emerging Markets Credit Sales franchise offers you an exceptional opportunity to develop deep expertise across a broad range of credit products, build relationships with the world's most influential institutional investors, and contribute to a market-leading franchise from day one. You will be part of a collaborative, high-performing team that thrives on delivering innovative ideas, outstanding client service, and meaningful market insight across sovereign, corporate, and structured credit products. We are deeply committed to your development, offering mentorship from experienced professionals, structured training, and exposure to the full breadth of J.P. Morgan's global credit capabilities. This is your chance to build an outstanding career at the heart of one of the most exciting and fast-growing franchises in global credit markets.
As an Analyst or Associate within the Emerging Markets Credit Sales team, you will support the coverage of a diverse and sophisticated institutional client base, including asset managers, hedge funds, insurance companies, and pension funds, delivering best-in-class market insight, trade ideas, and execution across EM credit products. You will work closely with senior sales professionals, traders, and research analysts to generate compelling investment ideas, respond to client needs, and contribute to the continued growth of our EM Credit franchise. Your role will provide direct exposure to a broad range of credit instruments, including sovereign and corporate bonds, credit derivatives, and distressed securities, giving you an outstanding foundation for a long-term career in institutional credit sales.
Job responsibilities
- Support senior sales professionals in the day-to-day coverage of institutional clients, delivering timely market colour, trade ideas, and execution across EM credit products.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, including asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, and insurance companies, through regular and proactive engagement.
- Monitor and analyse macroeconomic developments, credit market trends, and geopolitical events across Emerging Markets to generate relevant and timely client commentary.
- Collaborate with trading, research, and structuring teams to develop tailored investment ideas and solutions that meet the specific needs and objectives of each client.
- Assist in the execution and processing of credit transactions across sovereign bonds, corporate bonds, credit default swaps, and related instruments.
- Contribute to the preparation of client presentations, marketing materials, and trade recommendations that effectively communicate J.P. Morgan's EM credit capabilities.
- Support the identification of new business opportunities and assist in growing wallet share across the existing institutional client base.
- Engage with internal partners across trading, syndicate, research, and operations to ensure seamless execution and timely resolution of client queries.
- Participate actively in team meetings, training programmes, and broader franchise initiatives to accelerate your professional development and market knowledge.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrated interest in Emerging Markets and credit products, with a strong understanding of sovereign, corporate, and credit derivative instruments.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex market data and translate it into clear and actionable insights for institutional clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally with sophisticated investors and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment without compromising on quality or accuracy.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy across all aspects of work, including client communications and transaction processing.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine enthusiasm for Emerging Markets and credit.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Prior internship or work experience within Emerging Markets credit sales, trading, or research at a financial institution.
- Familiarity with a broad range of EM credit instruments, including distressed bonds, trade claims, CDS indices, and structured credit products.
- Understanding of the institutional investor landscape across Emerging Markets, including the objectives and workflows of key client types.
- Knowledge of key Emerging Markets regions, including Latin America, CEEMEA, and Asia, and the macroeconomic and geopolitical factors that drive credit performance.
- Experience using market data and analytics platforms such as Bloomberg in a professional or academic context.
- Additional language skills relevant to key Emerging Markets regions that would support client coverage and market analysis.
