ESG Manager

We're working with an innovative, growing technology business based just outside Cambridge that's looking for an experienced ESG Manager to take ownership of its sustainability strategy and drive meaningful change across the organisation.

The opportunity

As ESG Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering the company's ESG strategy, ensuring sustainability and responsible business practices are embedded into everyday operations and longer-term business decisions.

Working closely with senior leadership and teams across the organisation, you'll have the opportunity to influence everything from environmental reporting and carbon reduction to responsible sourcing, product development and employee engagement.

What will you be doing?

• Leading the development and delivery of the company's ESG strategy, objectives and improvement plans.
• Managing ESG reporting, disclosures and performance measures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
• Overseeing greenhouse gas emissions reporting across Scope 1, 2 and 3 and coordinating carbon reduction initiatives.
• Working with senior stakeholders to identify ESG risks, opportunities and priorities.
• Supporting sustainability requirements within customer tenders, procurement and supply chain activities.
• Collaborating with engineering, product and operations teams to embed sustainability into product development and business processes.
• Monitoring ESG legislation, industry standards and reporting requirements.
• Driving responsible sourcing, social value and employee engagement initiatives.
• Building ESG awareness across the business through communication, guidance and training.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who can confidently take ownership of ESG activities, engage stakeholders and translate complex requirements into practical business improvements.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Proven experience in an ESG, sustainability or corporate responsibility role.
• Strong knowledge of environmental reporting frameworks and standards, including GHG Protocol, GRI, ESRS or similar.
• Experience preparing ESG reports, managing data and developing measurable performance indicators.
• An understanding of ESG requirements within international supply chains, ideally involving public sector or government customers.
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to influence teams across different business functions.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the confidence to present findings to senior stakeholders.
• A proactive, collaborative approach and a genuine interest in driving positive change.

Experience within a technology, engineering or manufacturing environment would be particularly valuable, as would exposure to product sustainability, responsible procurement or commercial tendering.

Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
