Full job description
We are seeking an exceptional Estate Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a substantial private estate and support the Principals in ensuring all aspects of household and estate operations run smoothly.
This is a varied and rewarding role requiring a highly organised, proactive, and discreet individual who is equally comfortable managing people, coordinating projects, overseeing property maintenance, and handling the many moving parts that come with a busy private household.
The successful candidate will take ownership of estate operations, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the property while anticipating the needs of the Principals and providing trusted support across a wide range of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee the management and upkeep of all estate buildings, grounds, and facilities.
· Lead, support, and coordinate household and estate staff.
· Manage household budgets, expenditure, and financial reporting.
· Coordinate maintenance programmes, repairs, and preventative works.
· Oversee renovation, refurbishment, and development projects.
· Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
· Negotiate contracts and ensure all services are delivered to the highest standards.
· Maintain inventories of household assets, equipment, and supplies.
· Organise and oversee family events, entertaining, and special occasions.
· Ensure health, safety, and security procedures are maintained across the estate.
· Act as a key point of contact between the Principals, staff, and external advisers.
· Provide regular updates and ensure complete discretion and confidentiality in all matters.
About You
· Previous experience managing a private estate, country house, family office, or high-net-worth household an advantage.
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
· Financially competent with experience managing budgets and expenditure.
· Practical, resourceful, and able to solve problems quickly and effectively.
· Professional, discreet, and trustworthy, with impeccable integrity.
· Comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
· A hands-on approach and willingness to become involved wherever needed.
Position: Full-Time, Permanent.
Hours: Full time. There will be a requirement to work outside of normal hours from time to time.
Accommodation: Not provided.
Pay: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
