Role Overview
We’re looking for a proactive Recruitment AI & Automation Apprentice to help optimise our recruitment systems, particularly Bullhorn. This role sits at the intersection of recruitment, technology, and responsible AI use.
You’ll support the development of automated workflows and AI-driven processes, while working closely with recruiters and teams to understand challenges and improve how they work.
Some understanding or experience of the recruitment lifecycle is desirable, alongside curiosity, analytical thinking, and a willingness to learn.
Candidates must be based in or near Bristol.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development and optimisation of automated workflows (e.g. Bullhorn, Power Automate, Zapier)
- Assist in using AI tools to enhance candidate matching and recruiter productivity
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and suggest improvements
- Review recruitment processes to identify inefficiencies and automation opportunities
- Engage with internal teams to gather feedback and support adoption of new tools
- Support reporting, data quality, and system improvements
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and responsible AI practices
- Provide user support, training, and clear documentation
Skills & Experience
- Interest in AI, automation, and technology
- Understanding or experience of recruitment processes (desirable)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to train and support others
- Organised, proactive, and eager to learn
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
What You Will Learn (Apprenticeship Development)
You will undertake the ground-breaking Professional Apprenticeships AI and Automation Practitioner Level 4 qualification. Professional Apprenticeships are an Ofsted Outstanding rated provider and also hold the title of Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Training Provider of the Year for 2021.
The training is delivered using a hybrid model and can be delivered fully remotely if needed. You will have monthly 1-2-1s with your assigned tutor, along with monthly group sessions, where one topic will be covered in detail, and you will have the opportunity to meet and work with all the other apprentices on the course.
In your learning, you will cover:
- Designing and implementing AI and automation solutions
- Ethical and responsible AI practices (fairness, transparency, accountability)
- Data analysis, workflow design, and process optimisation
- Change management and stakeholder engagement
- AI risks, limitations, and governance frameworks
- Testing, evaluation, and continuous improvement of systems
- Communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
