About E.J. Churchill

E.J. Churchill at West Wycombe is one of the country's leading shooting grounds, hosting a varied programme of events for groups large and small. We're looking for an experienced Event Organiser to plan and deliver this programme end-to-end, from first enquiry through to post-event wrap-up.

This is a hands-on, operational role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll deliver a variety of events across the private, corporate, and charity sectors, managing multiple moving parts simultaneously, making complex logistics look simple. You're a true people person, proactive and comfortable working on your own initiative, with a keen eye for detail and the organisational skills to match.

You work with confidence: managing VIP and high-end clients, coordinating third-party suppliers and contractors, and delivering a seamless day, every time.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and manage private, corporate and charity events from concept through execution and post-event reporting
  • Negotiate with and manage third-party suppliers and contract staff to ensure smooth, cost-effective delivery
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of all attendees, including staff, guests, contractors, clients and volunteers
  • Prepare all event paperwork and maintain a comprehensive events diary
  • Work closely with the wider events team to ensure seamless delivery across every event

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a similar role essential, ideally organising or delivering events for groups large and small
  • Fast-paced, highly organised, with a keen eye for detail and strong time management skills
  • Ability to manage several events at different stages simultaneously
  • Confident negotiator, experienced in managing third-party suppliers
  • Calm under pressure, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace required; familiarity with Xero and Lightspeed Retail X preferred but not essential
  • Experience with luxury or high-end brands is desirable

Job Details

  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Location: West Wycombe, on-site (remote working not available)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays
  • Team: Reports into the Senior Event Organiser, working within a team of 3 full-time staff plus part-time support as required
  • Benefits: Pension, staff discount, free parking
  • Driving Licence: Required due to our rural location
  • Restrictions: Must have the right to work in the UK

For the right candidate, there's genuine potential for progression into an Event Manager or Head of Events role as our events programme grows.
