Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional Event Welfare Staff to join our team. This role involves supporting the smooth organisation and execution of various events, ensuring guests have a memorable experience. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who have experience as a welfare officer dealing with members of the public, keeping them safe as well as reporting concerns to the medical staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service, assisting with event logistics, and maintaining high standards of professionalism throughout each occasion.

Requirements and Skills

  • Attendee Support: Providing emotional support, mental health support, and acting as a listening ear to attendees.
  • Vulnerability Management: Proactively identifying and supporting vulnerable attendees, including managing lost children or vulnerable adults.
  • Rest & Recovery Area Management: Running designated welfare tents, providing safe, quiet, and comfortable spaces for attendees to recover.
  • Advocacy & Communication: Acting as a bridge between attendees, medical staff, and security to ensure cohesive care.
  • Support Services: Assisting with practical needs like finding lost property, charging phones, and organizing transport for attendees to get home safely.

Qualifications

  • Communication Skills: Personable and empathetic communication style.
  • Experience: Previous experience in care, social work, counseling, or similar events-based support roles.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding adults and children.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions.

•Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with security, medical, and production teams.
•Training: Often requires or provides training in mental health first aid, safeguarding, and harm reduction.

  • Having first aid training and safeguarding training and certification is desirable for this position.

Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
