Full job description

We are looking for a Senior Educator (L3+) for our growing Nursery!

You will be the Deputy Manager of our Cabin Room (9months - 2yrs), supporting the management of our current Room Manager and fully leading the room on one day a week in her absence.

You will be a strong practitioner with existing leadership skills or the confidence, creativity and people-skills to make your next step into a middle-leadership role.

Happy Learners Day Nursery is one of the newest nurseries in Hove - an inspiring, and dynamic Nursery that offers children and their parents an exceptional standard of childcare and education. The Nursery has a capacity for 38 children and is inspired by Nordic approaches to education and a pedagogy that emphasises professional love and care, active learning and nurturing each unique child. We opened in September 2023 and are delighted to be growing quickly - our community is recognising the passion we are bringing to Early Years in the Hove Park area!

The Director is forward-thinking and committed to being an employer of choice and has created a small team that is equally passionate, driven and dedicated and is now expanding that team. Our Management team are highly qualified and committed to finding wonderful individuals, who can give children and parents purposeful and encouraging support that exceeds expectations. This is an exciting time to join a unique and growing organisation. We work with leading nutrition and child development experts, creating an influential (and fun!) curriculum alongside a culture of staff support, development and inclusivity.

You will:

  • Love learning
  • Understand the positive effects of the Outdoors and Nutrition on wellbeing for all.
  • Love working with children and their families
  • Be a positive and proactive person.
  • Be interested and excited by our Approach and feel you have something great to offer our setting.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Level 3 full and relevant Early Years qualification
  • Experienced EYFS
  • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices
  • Ability to communicate kindly and professionally with children, parents, and staff members
  • Ability to motivate, support and encourage others.

We offer

  • Freshly cooked Breakfast, Lunch and Hot Tea for all staff
  • Extra AL day on Birthday
  • Staff Childcare Discount Club
  • Staff Socials, Events and Meals (no awkward token-team building)
  • An open door and anti-gossip team culture
  • Staff Offers and Discounts Club with 500 retailers (inc paid for Blue Light Card)
  • Confidential Wellbeing Helpline for all Staff & Families
  • A strong Leadership/Ownership team with a passion for identifying individual strengths, providing training and support for individual talent and growth.
  • Learn, Discover and Flourish: Our own training and development programme to help support internal breadth of expertise and identify internal opportunity/priority for promotion.
