We're looking to expand our technical capabilities with a Full Stack Developer who can work across the complete application lifecycle. This is a contract opportunity based in Bristol, where you could contribute to building scalable solutions that span backend services, frontend interfaces and cloud infrastructure.

What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

  • Developing and maintaining backend services using .NET, ASP.NET, Java and Spring Boot frameworks
  • Building responsive frontends using React and modern JavaScript practices
  • Designing and implementing microservices architectures and distributed systems
  • Setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployment
  • Working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Managing databases using SQL and optimizing data pipelines for quality and performance
  • Contributing to infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and similar tools
  • Collaborating across teams to define APIs, system design patterns using BPMN and UML
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing performance across the full application stack

What you could bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

Must-have

  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, .NET, Python or similar)
  • Experience building and consuming APIs and working with microservices
  • Frontend development experience, ideally with React or equivalent modern frameworks
  • Familiarity with relational databases (SQL) and query optimization
  • Working knowledge of Docker and containerization concepts
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)
  • Knowledge of distributed systems design patterns
  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Developer – Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
  • Linux command-line proficiency and Bash scripting
