Tell the stories that make Scotland’s islands special.

We're an ambitious, award-winning marketing team – and we’re fortunate to be the custodians of a brand closely connected to Scotland, its islands and one that’s built on generations of maritime expertise.

We’re looking for a Content Executive to help bring the Caledonian MacBrayne brand to life through coordinating engaging, authentic content across our channels – from social media and email to our website, blogs and digital screens.

You’ll play a hands-on role in creating, coordinating and optimising content that celebrates the people, places and experiences at the heart of our network. You’ll also have the opportunity to get out across the network, capturing stories and content first-hand and working with our creative partners to bring bigger ideas to life.

What you’ll do

  • Help plan and deliver our content calendar, ensuring we have engaging and relevant content across our channels.
  • Manage day-to-day social media activity, including writing copy, scheduling content and engaging with our communities.
  • Work with colleagues and agency partners to coordinate and manage content for email newsletters, blogs, website updates and digital screens.
  • Travel across our network to capture authentic content showcasing our vessels, destinations, customers and island communities.
  • Work with creative agencies and partners to deliver photography, video and other digital assets.
  • Support influencer collaborations and content partnerships, from briefing and content delivery through to approvals and performance evaluation.
  • Monitor content and channel performance, using insight to identify opportunities to improve engagement and reach.
  • Support campaigns by creating and coordinating content and marketing assets.
  • Help ensure all marketing outputs reflect the CalMac brand, tone of voice and high standards.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have proven experience creating and managing digital content across multiple channels, with strong copywriting, editing and proof-reading skills. You’ll understand what makes content engaging on social media and be comfortable using content management and scheduling tools.

You’ll have a creative eye and an interest in visual storytelling, with an understanding of photography and video content. You’ll also be organised, detail-focused and confident managing multiple deadlines.

We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive and full of ideas – someone who enjoys working collaboratively and is excited by the opportunity to tell stories that people want to see and share.

It would be beneficial to hold a valid driving license.

Why CalMac?

This is an opportunity to work on a brand that has a unique role in the life of Scotland. You’ll have the chance to get out into the places and communities you’re telling stories about, meet the people who make them special and help audiences discover the islands through the CalMac brand.

If you’re passionate about storytelling, love creating content and want your work to help people discover some of Scotland’s most incredible places, we’d love to hear from you.

Come onboard and tell the stories of Scotland’s islands.
