Role:

BCB International is looking for a driven and commercially focused Defence Sales Manager to grow our presence within the defence and government sectors. You'll be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and delivering profitable sales growth across your designated region.

Working closely with internal teams and international customers, you'll identify opportunities, prepare competitive tenders, negotiate contracts, and represent BCB at customer meetings and exhibitions. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated sales professional who thrives in an international business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver profitable order intake in line with or exceeding regional sales targets.
  • Build, manage and develop relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify and develop new markets and business opportunities within your region.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms and conditions, working closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare quotations, pricing and tender submissions for defence and commercial opportunities.
  • Travel throughout your region to meet customers, support business development activities and attend exhibitions.
  • Gather market intelligence and ensure BCB is well positioned for future tender opportunities.
  • Produce accurate sales forecasts, budgets and management reports.
  • Develop a strong understanding of BCB's products, services and contract management processes.
  • Identify, appoint and manage overseas agents and distributors where appropriate.
  • Ensure customer accounts are managed effectively, including documentation and timely payment of invoices.
  • Promote safe working practices and comply with company Health & Safety policies.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a sales, account management or business development role.
  • Experience managing international customers, distributors or agents.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of defence or government procurement processes.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities and convert them into sales.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Cultural awareness and confidence working with international customers.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Post A-Level qualification or equivalent, such as formal sales or officer training.
  • Proven track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Experience within the defence, military or government sectors is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of military survival equipment or camouflage products would be advantageous.
  • Self-starter with the drive to grow a defined sales region.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
