We are seeking a reliable and skilled General Operative/ Mobile Plant Operator to join our team at our Carmean Limeworks site.


Role Overview


This role involves operating a face excavator, loading dump trucks and ensuring the safe and efficient running of site operations.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities:


  • Operate and monitor the excavator, ensuring efficient production of lime products.
  • Operate an excavator to move, load, and handle materials safely.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on plant equipment.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of production and material movements.
  • Assist with general site operations, including housekeeping and manual handling when required.
  • Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines.


Key Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a quarrying environment is desirable.
  • Excavator experience or willingness to undertake training.
  • Ability to operate machinery and follow technical procedures.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including shift work if required.
