Job Title: Percher
We are currently recruiting for a Percher to join our busy Purling & Darning department. As a Percher, you will be inspecting, weighing and measuring large pieces of woven fabric.

This is a full time, permanent post working 38 hours per week on a two-shift rotation (early and late shift).

Rate of pay for this role is £13.45 per hour, along with shift pay allowance.

About the Role

As a Percher at Johnstons of Elgin, you will:

  • Inspect, weigh, and measure large pieces of woven fabric
  • Ensure work is organised and delivered on time to the Purling and Darning departments, in line with the weekly production plan
  • Support the movement of fabric pieces on and off Purling machines, Darning tables, and Darning perches
  • Work efficiently to achieve required output levels and meet production targets
  • Carry out manual handling tasks, including regular heavy lifting
