Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components with precision and efficiency, contributing to the production of high-quality products. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in welding and fabrication processes. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements.
  • Perform TIG welding, as well as other welding techniques suitable for UK welding standards, ensuring strong and accurate welds.
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal working equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal components.
  • Fabricate parts from metal and other materials according to specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks on welded joints and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Assist in assembly processes where required, ensuring components fit correctly and meet project deadlines.
  • Operate mechanical equipment safely and efficiently during fabrication tasks.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of welding principles, mechanical systems, and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and basic mathematical measurements.
  • Experience with assembly processes is desirable but not essential.
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with attention to detail is essential for producing high-quality work.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications in welding or fabrication are advantageous but not mandatory.
