Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and safety of outdoor spaces across various sites. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, applying practical skills in landscape maintenance and horticulture. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a passion for gardening, construction, and outdoor upkeep.

Duties

  • Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting.
  • Operate power tools such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and blowers to ensure efficient grounds care.
  • Use hand tools for planting, digging, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
  • Assist with construction or repair projects involving outdoor structures or pathways.
  • Operate machinery such as excavators when required for larger landscaping projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept safe, clean, and organised in compliance with health and safety standards.

Experience

  • Previous experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools used in groundskeeping tasks.
  • Experience working with excavation equipment such as excavators is a plus but not essential.
  • Knowledge of construction or outdoor maintenance projects will be beneficial.
  • A proactive attitude towards maintenance tasks and a keen eye for detail are essential qualities for success in this role.
