Flexible Wake In night Carer required - Permanent or Bank Position available

Hours - 21.00-07.15

A Private family in Longfield, Kent are seeking an additional member to join their team. To help care for their non-verbal 18 year old daughter who has quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and is tube fed.

Some care experience is needed whether in a care setting or looking after a family member, however full and ongoing training will be provided.

Most importantly, above experience, you will have the following attributes:

  • an interest to learn
  • considerate & empathetic
  • reliable,
  • good initiative/intuition
  • have good standard of written and spoken English
  • Excellent observation skills and a high level of common sense are essential

The job specification in short is to be the awake person and provide full holistic care with the assistance of the Sleep In person when needed. This will include but is not limited to: personal care, position changes, postural support, administering medications and fluids via the peg tube, monitoring and observing overnight via a visual / audio monitor, and in person, spot checking throughout the night, temperature /pain management, mouth care and maintaining skin integrity.

Full training and guidance is given until you feel competent and confident, we go at your pace. You will be embraced and fully supported by an established team keen to share their knowledge with you. We have a friendly, affable and experienced team and very much have a working together ethos.

A full driving licence is essential due to the requirements of the role and location of the family home plus the candidate must have full legal authorisation to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not offered. The position requires an adult enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
