Farm Shop jobs

A vacancy has arisen within our family business. The farm shop continues to grow and with the increased customer demand, we are looking for part-time (will consider full-time) shop assistants to join our team. Some retail experience would be preferred, but not essential.

Days will include shifts during the week plus some weekend working on a fortnightly rota. The days and times are flexible to suit both the successful candidate and ourselves - can possibly be made to work round school hours for parents.

There would be a range of longer and shorter shifts available, therefore flexibility is required.

This is a customer facing role therefore candidates applying must be enthusiastic, sociable with our customers and willing to learn our story and what we have to offer. With an award-winning butchery counter, restaurant, gift shop and drive thru, all in addition to the farm shop, we take pride in offering top class customer service to every person that walks through the door. You must be a team player and be self motivated in order to ensure our shop shelves look good, stocked and merchandised accordingly throughout the day. Your expertise in merchandising and your ability to communicate effectively with customers will enhance their shopping experience. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage time efficiently while also being organised and detail-oriented.

Wage is dependant on experience and performance.

Duties

• Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with product selection and inquiries.
• Engage in upselling techniques to maximise sales opportunities.
• Maintain an organised and visually appealing sales floor through effective merchandising strategies.
• Handle transactions accurately while demonstrating basic math skills for cash handling.
• Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently during shifts.
• Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when addressing customer calls or inquiries.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications / Skills

• Proven experience in retail sales or a similar customer-facing role is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage customers effectively.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and cash management.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage inventory and store displays.
• Time management abilities to prioritise tasks during busy periods.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.75 per hour
