Apprentice Fashion & Textiles Product Technologist

Cavani is looking for an ambitious and creative Apprentice Fashion & Textiles Product Technologist to join our product development team. This role is perfect for someone with a genuine passion for fashion who is eager to learn, develop new skills, and gain real industry experience. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to exciting projects, and build a strong foundation for a career in fashion and textiles.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Working alongside our experienced design and product teams, you'll support the development of future Cavani collections by:
  • Assisting with the design and development of new menswear products
  • Creating CADs, colourways and garment visuals using Adobe Illustrator
  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of technical packs
  • Researching fabrics, trims, trends and competitor activity
  • Assisting with fittings and product reviews
  • Communicating sample comments and product updates with manufacturers
  • Organising design files, fabrics and development samples
  • Supporting across multiple product categories including tailoring, outerwear, knitwear and casualwear
  • Helping bring innovative ideas to future Cavani collection

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about fashion and excited by the idea of building a career within a successful menswear brand.

You'll ideally have:

  • A genuine interest in menswear, fashion and product development
  • A strong awareness of current fashion trends
  • A creative mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence to contribute ideas and ask questions
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A positive attitude and a passion for great product

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Adobe Illustrator skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Desirable

  • Photoshop, InDesign or CLO3D experience
  • Fashion, textiles or creative studies background
  • A portfolio showcasing creative work and design thinking

What You'll Learn

This apprenticeship will provide hands-on experience across the complete product development journey, including:

  • Fashion design and product development
  • Fabric selection and garment construction
  • Technical specifications and quality assurance
  • Commercial product planning
  • Manufacturing and production processes
  • Trend forecasting and market research

You'll also gain a nationally recognised Level 4 Fashion & Textiles Product Technologist qualification, delivered by The Textile Centre of Excellence
