About First Class Support:
First Class Support (FCS) is one of the UK's leading specialist support providers, ranked in the top 1% of Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) support providers nationwide. Annually, we deliver over 80,000 hours of dedicated support across colleges and higher education institutions throughout the UK. Beyond academia, we also extend our expertise to workplace settings, offering tailored personal and employment support solutions, including strategy coaching, assistive technology training, and disability awareness sessions.
Important – Please Read Before Applying
This is an office-based operational coordination role.
It does not involve providing direct care, personal support, or client-facing duties.
You will be based in our Plymouth office, working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, responsible for assigning staff, managing schedules, resolving issues, and handling a high volume of phone and email communication.
Role Overview:
Due to rapid expansion, we are seeking an experienced and professional Support Coordinator to join our team. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth delivery of non-medical specialist support services to students and clients across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign and manage support workers across a high volume of students and clients.
- Handle incoming calls and inbox management, responding to queries promptly and professionally.
- Build strong, confident relationships with students, universities, support staff, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate schedules, monitor attendance, and resolve issues quickly to maintain service quality.
- Work alongside the team to ensure support is delivered efficiently and to resolve any issues promptly.
- Maintain high standards of written and verbal communication at all times.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- At least 1–2 years’ experience in coordination, administration, scheduling, recruitment, operations, disability advisory, or a similar office-based environment.
- A strong ability to manage competing deadlines and a consistently high workload.
- Confidence communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent organisation skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to adapt as responsibilities evolve.
- Comfortable working in a busy, high-pressure environment where priorities change quickly.
Please note: This is not an entry-level graduate role and is not suitable for those seeking care or support worker positions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates who can evidence relevant professional experience in coordination, recruitment, business development, or similar sectors are particularly welcomed.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting salary of £26,400.
- Monthly bonuses available (OTE £27,000+).
- Professional development and training opportunities.
- Additional paid leave, including time off over Christmas and Summer.
- Company pension scheme.
- Opportunities for further bonuses.
Work Environment & Culture
- Modern, bright office in Sutton Harbour with plenty of natural light and space.
- Supportive, professional team culture focused on quality.
- Recognition culture where high performance is acknowledged and rewarded.
- Team building activities and staff appreciation events and rewards.
Office Location: Sutton Harbour, Plymouth (This role is office-based and does not offer remote working).
If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, please indicate this on the application form. If your application progresses, we will get in touch to discuss how we can support you.
