Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Singleton, Poulton-le-fylde

Salary: £22,800 basic salary with commission-based earnings, rising based on the amount of work brought in, and capped at £50,000. We offer a competitive commission rate of 5%.

Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team at Grounds, Gardens & Trees Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong client relationships within the grounds maintenance and fencing contracting industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base within the grounds maintenance and fencing contracting sector.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve targets and maximize revenue.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Proposal Writing: Prepare and present compelling proposals and quotations to clients, highlighting the value proposition of our services.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and contracts with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations and finance, to ensure seamless delivery of services and optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates on sales activities, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts to senior management.


  • Experience: Previous experience in sales or business development, preferably within the grounds maintenance and fencing contracting industry.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with grounds maintenance and fencing contracting practices, terminology, and industry trends is preferred. However, training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and negotiate with clients.
  • Results-Oriented: Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing market conditions and embrace new strategies to drive business growth.
  • Driving License: A valid driving license is required for this role, as travel to client sites and meetings may be necessary.
