Full job description

We have an opportunity for Landscape Site Operatives to join our dynamic small Habitats team, based from our Kenilworth office. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hard-working and practical individual that likes a varied role and enjoys being involved in undertaking wildlife mitigation, habitat creation, landscaping, and vegetation clearance projects.

We are an ecological contractor, providing solutions to compensate for loss of habitat caused by development and building works. We design, create, maintain and enhance habitats for wildlife for a wide range of clients and provide support to ecologists with protected species trapping and translocation.

The type of work that our team will undertake can include but not limited to: wildlife mitigation, newt and reptile fencing to facilitate trapping and translocation prior to construction, other fencing including stock, water vole, badger and otter fencing, badger sett exclusion and artificial sett construction, brushcutting, tree felling and general vegetation clearance, soft landscaping including planting trees, shrubs, and grass seeding, invasive species mitigation including Japanese Knotweed and Himalayan Balsam management.

Due to the varied nature of the role, the successful candidate will have experience of working in the landscape sector working on construction sites, in country parks; or in the horticulture, farming or forestry industries. You must be enthusiastic with a love for the outdoors and the environment.

Successful candidates must

  • have a full UK driving licence and their own car.
  • a valid CSCS card (or willing to attain one)
  • live within the Warwickshire, Bedfordshire or Staffordshire areas.
  • experience in Landscaping, countryside management, amenity horticulture, forestry or agriculture
  • familiarity with construction health & safety rules and procedures
  • confidence to work independently, and as part of a team
  • willing to work away from home on occasion

Ideally, the successful candidate will also have the following tickets or experience (not essential)

  • Critical Safety Medical
  • NTPC brushcutter
  • PA1/PA6 herbicide spraying
  • BBV M-Site Induction
  • machinery maintenance
