Job details
Full job description
Location: Hereford based, with nationwide travel
Pay: £180–£250 per day, depending on experience and capability
Hours: Approximately 40–45 hours per week on site
Employment: PAYE or self-employed options available
Benefits: Company vehicle, lodge/accommodation when working away, tools available, additional remuneration for operatives providing their own tools
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Multi-Trade Operative to join our team.
The role is based from Hereford, however our work is carried out nationwide and working away Monday to Friday will be a regular and expected part of the position.
There will be occasions where work is available locally, but applicants should apply on the understanding that travelling and staying away during the working week is a fundamental requirement of the role.
The Role
The successful candidate will undertake a wide variety of property maintenance, refurbishment and remedial works.
Typical works may include:
- Responsive repairs and general property maintenance
- Void property works
- Damp, mould and condensation remediation
- Kitchen and bathroom works
- Carpentry and joinery
- Basic plumbing
- Plastering and making good
- Tiling
- Painting and decorating
- Roofing repairs
- Fencing and external works
- General building and maintenance works
We do not expect every applicant to be a specialist in every trade. Training can be provided for certain elements of the work.
However, this is a genuine multi-trade position and applicants must already have a strong practical understanding of property maintenance and several years of experience completing works independently.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Has several years' experience working within property maintenance, refurbishment or a similar multi-trade environment
- Is confident working independently and managing their own workload on site
- Has good practical ability across several different trades
- Is capable of identifying problems and completing repairs without requiring constant supervision
- Takes pride in the quality and finish of their work
- Is reliable, professional and able to represent the company appropriately when working in customers' homes and properties
- Is willing and able to work away Monday to Friday on a regular basis
- Holds a full clean UK driving licence
Formal trade qualifications are not essential. For this position, proven experience and practical ability are more important than certificates.
A DBS check is preferred, although this can be arranged for the successful candidate if required.
Pay & Package
Pay will typically be between £180 and £250 per day, depending on experience, capability and employment arrangement.
The package can include:
- Company vehicle
- Accommodation/lodge provided when working away
- PAYE or self-employed working arrangements
- Tools can be provided
- Enhanced remuneration may be available for operatives supplying their own professional tools
- Ongoing training where required
- Varied work across a broad range of projects
- Opportunity for long-term, consistent work for the right person
A probationary period will apply.
Important
Please only apply if you are genuinely able to commit to regular Monday-to-Friday working away from home.
Our work is nationwide. While some projects may be based in Herefordshire or surrounding areas, candidates must be comfortable travelling and staying away during the week as required.
We are looking for an experienced, dependable multi-trader who can become a long-term member of the team rather than somebody specialising in only one individual trade.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £180.00-£250.00 per day
Experience:
- Maintenance: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
Work Location: In person
