About Us

W L West is a Merchant of quality hardwood timber products, ranging from fresh sawn to machine finished products, we have been in the industry for over 150 years.

The Role

The Yard/Tally Person’s role is integral to our business, from checking in the stock from suppliers, to selecting the correct timber for our workshops and customers. The yard needs to be a strong link in the chain, that is W L West.

Responsibilities

Checking deliveries from suppliers

Loading/unloading deliveries

Selecting timber for processing

Helping customers select timber

General health and safety of the yard

Keeping the yard and timber sheds tidy

Carrying out stock checks

Requirements

Forklift experience

Yard/Stores experience

Ability to work as a team

Some timber knowledge would be helpful (full training will be given)

Good physical health

The working day is 07:30 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 07.30 to 16.00 Friday, with occasional overtime.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £29,500.00 per year
