Both management divisions carry out tree surgery, woodland & countryside management, invasive weed control, fencing and landscaping.
Contract Details
The Cornwall Countryside and Devon Countryside contracts are non term operations working throughout Cornwall and Devon. Each team operates primarily out of the Launceston and Exeter Depots.
Both contracts carry out a wide variety of countryside work using direct labour employees with some support from local subcontractors where necessary.
Tasks include vegetation management (scrub clearance, tree felling, grass cutting and invasive weed control). This can involve the use of chainsaws, brushcutter/strimmers, knapsack application of herbicides and push mowers.
Tree planting (both small and large specimens) is also carried out and this requires the transport of materials (including stakes, tree protection, compost) to and from sites using vans and trailers.
There is also an element of woodland and habitat management where we are required to work to ecological specifications or alongside and supervised by third party ecologists.
Some elements of soft landscaping also fall within the remit of the contract and this can involve working on development sites alongside civil engineering companies. Tasks may include grass seeding and turfing, tree and shrub planting.
