Technical Field Sales Representative – Metalworking Fluids South of England | Home Based

Already selling into precision engineering and manufacturing?

Do you have experience selling cutting tools, metalworking fluids, lubricants, workholding, machine tools or other technical engineering products?

Are you equally comfortable generating new business over the phone as you are building relationships face-to-face on customer sites?

Our customers include manufacturers operating across aerospace, defence, automotive, medical, precision engineering and general manufacturing. Our reputation has been built on supplying technically advanced products backed by exceptional service and on-site support.

As demand continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Technical Sales Representative to develop our Southern territory.

The Opportunity;

This isn't an account management role.

We're looking for someone who enjoys finding new opportunities, opening doors and winning business.

You'll be expected to prospect your territory, generate your own appointments through telephone activity and networking, qualify opportunities and then manage the entire sales process through to successful coolant trials and implementation.

Working alongside our technical support team, you'll become a trusted advisor to customers, demonstrating how Oemeta products can reduce tooling costs, improve machining performance and increase coolant life.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing new business throughout the South of England
  • Prospecting manufacturers using a combination of telesales, networking and customer visits
  • Booking and attending customer appointments
  • Identifying machining challenges and production issues
  • Recommending suitable metalworking fluid solutions
  • Managing technical coolant trials from initial proposal through to successful conversion
  • Presenting cost savings and performance improvements using trial data
  • Building long-term relationships with production managers, manufacturing engineers, tooling engineers, purchasing teams and directors
  • Working closely with our Business Development team to maximise opportunities within your territory

We're Looking For Someone Who Has;

  • Experience selling into precision engineering or manufacturing
  • Experience in both telesales/business development and field sales
  • A proven track record of generating new business
  • Confidence cold calling and opening new accounts
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline through a CRM
  • Full UK driving licence

Highly Desirable

Experience selling one or more of the following:

  • Metalworking fluids
  • Cutting tools
  • Industrial lubricants
  • CNC machinery
  • Machine tool accessories
  • Workholding
  • Metrology equipment
  • Abrasives
  • Engineering consumables
  • Industrial chemicals

Knowledge of machining processes including milling, turning, grinding, deep hole drilling or aerospace manufacturing would be a significant advantage.
