About Bruizer
Bruizer is an established video and photography agency working with organisations across the UK and internationally.
For more than 25 years, we’ve helped businesses communicate through film, photography, animation, campaigns, events, social content and internal communications. Our work takes us everywhere - from offices, studios and factories, to construction sites, major events and exciting locations around the world.
We’re a permanent in-house team (supported by trusted freelancers when required), with our very own production facilities and a substantial range of camera, lighting, sound and grip equipment.
The work is varied. One day might involve filming a straightforward interview; the next could be a multi-camera production, an industrial shoot, an international event or several days on location.
Whatever the scale of the project, we approach it with the same level of care.
www.bruizer.co.uk
The Role
We’re looking for a new member of our camera crew.
You might be relatively early on in your career and looking for an opportunity to develop your skills, or you may already have several years of professional experience. We’re more interested in finding the right person, rather than a particular number of years on a CV. You’ll work alongside our existing camera crew, producers, and editors to create stand-out work for our clients.
The role involves much more than simply operating a camera. You’ll be involved in preparing shoots, managing and maintaining equipment, lighting and sound onset, stills photography and drone, working with contributors and clients, and making sure productions run smoothly - both on location and at Bruizer HQ. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn, develop and take on greater responsibility as your experience grows.
Main Purpose of the Role
To help Bruizer produce consistently high-quality films and photography while providing an excellent experience for our clients.
That means being technically capable, organised and adaptable, with a positive, can-do attitude and the confidence to work comfortably with people.
It also means communicating well with everyone involved in a project, from clients and contributors to producers, camera crew and editors, and taking responsibility for helping each production run as smoothly as possible.
The Job
Depending on your level of experience, the role will include:
- Operating cameras on a wide variety of productions.
- Setting up - and operating - lighting and sound equipment.
- Assisting other camera operators and directors on larger productions.
- Preparing, checking, packing and maintaining production equipment.
- Setting up and breaking down equipment on location and in the studio.
- Working closely with producers, directors and editors to achieve the creative brief.
- Contributing ideas during pre-production and helping plan the practical and technical requirements of shoots.
- Working directly with clients and contributors and representing Bruizer professionally at all times.
- Helping productions run smoothly, including solving practical problems when things inevitably change on location.
- Capturing photography and additional content where required.
- Helping create content for Bruizer’s own website, social channels and marketing.
- Looking after equipment, vehicles and production spaces and helping the wider team wherever required.
Some shoots involve early starts, late finishes, nights away and travel around the UK or overseas. The majority of our work takes place Monday to Friday, but flexibility is an important part of working in film production.
The Right Person
We’re not looking for somebody who simply wants to hold a camera.
We're not looking for another bod on set.
We want somebody who wants to become an important part of the Bruizer team.
What matters to us
Attitude - proactive, enthusiastic and willing to get involved.
Professionalism - comfortable dealing directly with clients and representing Bruizer.
Teamwork - willing to help others and do what is needed to make a production work.
Reliability - organised, punctual and someone other people can depend upon.
Communication - confident communicating with colleagues, clients and contributors.
Technical curiosity - genuinely interested in cameras, lighting, sound and production technology.
Adaptability - able to learn, take feedback and change approach when required.
Attention to detail - both creatively and practically.
Creativity - an eye for composition, lighting and visual storytelling.
No ego - happy operating a camera one minute and carrying cases, coiling cables or loading the van the next.
A full UK driving licence is important with travelling to shoot locations being a regular part of the role.
Experience
Professional experience with cameras, lighting, sound or photography would be an advantage, but we are deliberately keeping the level of this role flexible.
You may be:
- early in your career with strong foundations and a desire to learn;
- already working as a camera assistant or junior operator;
- or an experienced camera operator looking for a permanent role within a collaborative production team.
We care more about your ability, attitude and potential than a particular job title. Experience of photography, editing, drones, grip equipment, live events or working in corporate and industrial environments would all be useful, but none is essential.
Every Project Matters
Bruizer works with a wide range of clients and productions.
It is important that the same level of enthusiasm and attention is given to everything we make — whether that is a relatively simple client interview or a large multi-day production involving a substantial crew.
We want every project leaving Bruizer to be as good as we can make it.
Salary & Package
- Salary dependent on experience.
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Opportunity to develop your camera, lighting, sound and photography skills.
- Regular hands-on experience with professional production equipment.
- Training and development as your role progresses.
- Varied projects across a broad range of clients and industries.
- UK and international travel.
- The opportunity to become part of an established, permanent production team.
How to Apply
Please send us your CV together with some examples of your work.
If you have a showreel, we’d be pleased to see it, but a polished professional reel isn’t essential - particularly if you are early on in your career. We would rather see a few examples of work you are proud of and understand what your involvement was in creating them.
Please also include a short introduction telling us why you are interested in joining Bruizer.
