Summary of Position and Duties:

To oversee the Company’s financial planning and accounting operations

Ensuring strict adherence to financial regulations, such as the in the UK, to properly safeguard client funds.

Presenting clear financial reports, forecasts, and to the firm’s management board to guide business decisions.

Driving the collection of aged debt and reducing lock-up (Work-In-Progress and unbilled time) to maximise the firm's cash flow.

Overseeing annual budgets, tax reserving, and the complex calculation and distribution of profits across the firm's

Primary Responsibilities

  • Directing financial planning and strategy
  • Analysing and reporting on financial performance
  • Overseeing audit and tax functions
  • Preparing forecasts and comprehensive budget
  • Training and supervising accounts staff
  • Reviewing operational budgets
  • Assessing, managing, and minimizing risk
  • Analysing complex financial data

Duties

  • Contract outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary
  • Using financial modelling to simulate potential scenarios
  • Performing financial analysis on the company to predict financial health
  • Monitoring spending and creating budgets
  • Preparing company reports
  • Finding ways to reduce costs and increase profits
  • Collaborating with management to create funding strategies
  • Ensuring adherence to national and international financial regulations
  • Overseeing a company’s payroll and bookkeeping system

Person Specification

Qualifications & Training

  • Accounting or Finance Degree

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management

Qualities & Attitude

  • Outstanding leadership skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Strong aptitude for maths
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An analytical mind with good organisational skills

Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting software, corporate principles and financial analysis
  • Broad knowledge of accounting principles
  • Computer literacy
