Job Summary: Retirement income specialist

We look after the most important financial decision many of our clients will ever make, turning a pension into an income that has to last for the rest of their life. Because so much rests on getting it right, we specialise in nothing else.

What you would be doing

- Looking after £1m plus pension income accounts for retired and retiring clients, for the rest of their lives.

- Building and running elegant portfolios designed to deliver reliable income, rather than chasing fund values.

- Leading the cashflow conversation with clients, working out what they need, when they need it, and for how long, running every client via Voyant.

- Writing suitability and review reports that clients genuinely understand and that stand up to FCA scrutiny.

- Working across 11 platforms and 47 fund managers, on behalf of around 150 families and roughly £200m.

Skills

  • Proven experience in financial services with a focus on financial planning or wealth management.
  • Strong understanding of investment strategies, tax laws, estate planning, and risk management principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and confidently to clients.
  • Organised with exceptional attention to detail when analysing data and preparing reports.
  • Ability to work independently whilst maintaining a collaborative approach within the team.
  • Professional accreditation or certification in financial planning (e.g., CFP) is highly desirable but not essential.

Who we are looking for

Life experience counts alongside qualifications here, because our clients are mostly retired or approaching retirement, and they value an adviser who has enough perspective to reassure them, explain things plainly, and set realistic expectations, rather than lead with a risk questionnaire and a glossy brochure.

You will hold the qualifications a chartered firm expects, ideally the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent, and you will keep learning past the exams. Just as important is whether you have the empathy, maturity and technical curiosity to sit alongside someone making one of the biggest financial decisions of their life.

This is not a sales role. There are no sales targets, no monthly sales reporting and no sales bonuses, and we remain fiercely independent and product agnostic, with no financial interest in any fund we recommend.

The role

This role is based in our central London office five days a week, because we value having colleagues in the same room to test ideas and challenge each other's thinking throughout the day. We do not currently offer hybrid or remote working for this position.

We think of ourselves as boringly reliable, and we mean that warmly. It is exactly how our clients like it.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. Please take a look at our research on the website first, then send us a message for a confidential conversation.

Pay: £65,000.00-£105,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Life insurance
