Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Finance Business Partner, a role within the Finance Department, at University of South Wales. The role sits within the Finance Business Partnering Team, providing both core financial services and driving dynamic and innovative approaches to financial management to underpin USW financial performance and transformation.

Based at the University of South Wales, Pontypridd. The university is currently operating a hybrid-model of working. However, the successful candidate would be expected to work on campus for part of the week and work within close proximity to the relevant business area/ stakeholders.

The Assistant Finance Business Partner, including the Research and Grants specialism, will report to the Finance Business Partner and act as the primary contact for budget holders in relation to financial planning, budgeting and forecasting. This is a critical role in ensuring budget holders are appropriately supported and have a clear understanding of their financial performance. In addition, the role will support research and grants activities, including monitoring and verifying that external funds are utilised in line with funding conditions and that required outputs are achieved. We are seeking an ambitious part-qualified accountant with a strong finance/accounting background and considerable experience, who demonstrates an approachable, professional and “can do” attitude, and is equally comfortable working independently or as part of a close-knit team.

As one of the largest higher education providers in Wales, the University and the finance team provides an ideal setting for individuals to develop their careers, nurture their talent and make a difference.

This is a full time, permanent post.
