Clifton Private Finance is a progressive property and business finance advisory firm based in Cardiff seeking an experienced senior asset finance specialist to join our team.

Working with a panel of 100 leading lenders, we help UK SMEs to get the right finance in place so they can trade, plan, and grow confidently. By utilising our online platform, we are able to match customers to the right lender and finance product in minutes, ensuring a first-class experience for every customer, regardless of their success.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance, advising businesses requiring finance, including:

• Asset finance
• Acquisition finance
• Invoice finance
• Commercial mortgages
• Unsecured business finance
• Working capital finance

You will be comfortable talking to and providing advice to business owners and senior management staff about their finance requirements.

You will have experience assessing business finance applications and will have previous experience within a bank/commercial/lending/underwriting environment.

The role will also require you to support and develop our junior advisers through regular structured training sessions.

Role overview
Focused on some of the most valuable new enquiries received into the business, you will be responsible for providing excellent business finance advice.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will be part of the development of a strong working broker team with excellent working standards and practice.

Role and Responsibilities

• Give an excellent business finance advice experience to all clients
• Provision of business advice and guidance
• Undertake business finance needs assessments
• Supporting businesses with the application process to apply for finance
• Assessment of existing business finance facilities
• Relationship management of existing business finance clients
• Support the Head of Commercial Finance in networking events, business development, and meeting lender business development managers
• Provide training support to junior business finance advisers
• Provide input into continual process and service improvement
• Keep business records updated on the Company CRM
• To undertake such other tasks as considered appropriate by the Head of Commercial Finance

Key Skills Required

• Excellent communication skills, particularly on the telephone, and good ability to build rapport and long-term relationships with clients
• Understanding the finance needs of businesses (of different sizes and sectors) and stakeholders
• Have an understanding of business accounts
• Successful sales history
• Be able to assess business finance applications
• Previous experience in a commercial/lending/underwriting environment
• The ability to work as part of a small team, but also self-motivated to work alone
• The ability to work to deadlines, with good time management and efficient work patterns
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Creativity - the ability to generate solutions for new business
• Ability to establish and build relationships with external parties, other business partners and key influencers

Qualifications & Experience

• Required - minimum of 5 years of experience in a business finance sales capacity
• Previous self-employed experience an advantage
• A proven and successful record in a business/commercial finance operation
• Used to working effectively under pressure and to financial targets
• Experience in offering and delivering excellent client service standards

Package

• Title: Senior Asset Finance Broker
• Job type: Full-time, permanent
• Location: Office based role - Cardiff
• Hours: 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday
• Holiday: 22 days (plus statutory), increasing to 25 days after 3 full years’ service
• Basic salary: £60,000
• OTE: £100K+
• Company pension scheme: in line with auto-enrolment
