Credit Controller

Monday - Friday

Shaftesbury - based onsite

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team, to maximise the recovery of outstanding debt with customers within a reasonable timeframe and to streamline the process to improve recovery rates. You will also be involved in credit assessments, payment plans, debt recovery, query resolution and customer enquiries. You will work closely with our sales and operations teams to provide exceptional service delivery to our clients.

Role Objectives:

  • Contact customers via phone to chase and follow up on outstanding payments and resolve any billing issues
  • Overcoming customers objections, tailoring your approach and actively listen to the customer to enable recovery of funds within reasonable timeframes.
  • Retaining call control whilst on the phone to customers and building rapport and showing empathy when required.
  • Accurately maintain, record and store customer interactions and payment status in the accounting software.
  • Escalating payment delays to the correct customer relationship partner.
  • Analyse customer credit data to determine credit limits and terms.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and take appropriate actions to collect overdue payments.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries and disputes.
  • Prepare and send out monthly statements to customers.
  • Perform data entry tasks to update customer information and payment details.
  • Delegation to debt collection agency
  • Communication with debt collection agency, legal advisers and customer where required.
  • Processing card payments
  • Running weekly reminder letters
  • Setting up of new customer accounts and maintaining existing account details
  • Working closely with the Senior finance team to assist where necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • In depth experience of Credit control processes and technologies - essential
  • Experience in collections or a related field is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial services and debt collection practices
  • Excellent telephone / emails communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyse accounts payable information accurately
  • Attention to detail and dedication to providing high quality, errorfree work
  • Ability to work onsite daily
