Regional Financial Controller – Automotive
Drive Motor Retail – York (Multi-Site: York, Scarborough, Hull)

Drive Motor Retail represents some of the most recognised automotive brands in the UK, including Vauxhall, MG, Leapmotor, Hyundai, Citroen, Peugeot, Fiat and Abarth.

We are now looking to appoint a Regional Financial Controller to take full financial ownership across three of our key sites in York, Scarborough and Hull. This is a high-impact leadership role with responsibility for a multi-site team and direct influence over operational performance.

The Role
As Regional Financial Controller, you will take ownership of all financial operations across your sites, working closely with the Operational Financial Controller and senior leadership teams to drive performance, control costs and improve processes.

You will lead and develop a team of 9 across Accounts, Sales Administration and support functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency across all financial activities.

This is not just a reporting role – you will play a key part in decision-making, commercial performance and continuous improvement across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full financial control across York, Scarborough and Hull sites
  • Production and review of monthly management accounts
  • Partnering with General Managers to drive site performance
  • Oversight of budgets, forecasting and financial planning
  • Ensuring compliance with manufacturer and group reporting standards
  • Leading, developing and mentoring a team of 9
  • Driving process improvements and efficiencies across departments
  • Managing audit requirements and internal controls

About You

  • Proven experience in an automotive dealership finance environment is essential
  • Currently operating as a Financial Controller, Divisional Accountant or Senior Dealership Accountant ready to step up
  • Strong knowledge of dealership systems (Kerridge/Keyloop/Autoline preferred)
  • Experience across multi-site or high-volume dealership operations
  • Confident business partner with strong commercial awareness
  • Strong leadership and team development experience
